At Hume Dance School we deliver fun focused learning. We cater for all ages and stages in life. Experienced and creative teachers will ensure you get the most out of each lesson and leave with a smile on your face.
All classes begin with a thorough warm up, followed by skill progression and onto our fun, creative and cleverly choreographed routines. For the younger students we have hoops, twirling ribbons, a parachute, scooter boards and scarves to assist their movement to music and enhance their dance experience.
At Hume Dance School we operate for the Love of Dancing. We are passionate about what we do and run as a not-for-profit organisation as all profits go back into the school. We offer affordable lessons with suitably qualified/experienced teachers.
Selected classes compete in the Albury Wodonga Festival of Sight & Sound. Whilst this is a competition, the focus remains on the FUN of dancing. Performing on stage is a good experience for all students to partake in. It helps build confidence and social skills and gives children and parents a great sense of pride. Even for a first time performer, once the initial jitters have passed, they find they love it, and can’t wait too dance on stage again.
Every year we have a mid year concert held at St Patricks School Hall and an end of year concert at the Albury Entertainment Centre to showcase the students hard work for the year.
Contemporary dance is one of our popular dance styles and is a particularly innovative way of moving the body.

Contemporary dance is very interpretive in its choreography and often focuses on emotions or storytelling. Contemporary can be balletic or abstract, jazz-influenced or lyrical, structured or unconventional.
Contemporary dance bridges the gap between jazz and ballet in a freeform, creative dance form that encourages creative thinking. The choreography often shares emotive storylines, encouraging students to express themselves through movements.
