At Elite Dance Academy we provide dance classes in many genres of dance including Cecchetti Classical Ballet, Glenn Wood Tap, Jazz, Modern Lyrical, Tap, Hip Hop, Breakdance, Musical Theatre, Broadway Jazz, Contemporary dance and Acrobatics. We now also have Ready Set Dance for our pre-school age students , this is a fabulous program providing Confidence , Creativity and Coordination.
Our qualified & experienced dance teachers are trained to provide professional lessons in a fun and supportive environment according to the relevant syllabus. The teachers constantly attend workshops and classes to bring new styles and techniques to the Elite Dance Academy.
The students learn to dance whilst improving their confidence, flexibility, co-ordination, posture and fitness. The students make new friends whilst dancing and performing.
Contemporary Dance is a creative, interpretive and free-flowing style combining strong technique in ballet and jazz to produce beautiful and meaningful routines.
The I.S.T.D. syllabus is taught in these classes. It is a wonderful progressive graded syllabus used internationally, which builds a solid technique rich in the understanding of rhythms; and encompasses lyrical, percussive, jazz, musical theatre and comtemporary styles.
It fuses modern dance, jazz and ballet. It often requires excellent technique to perform, as the moves can be difficult and precise.
Contemporary is an extremely fluid and expressive form of modern dance. It is not associated with specific dance techniques, but rather with emotions.
Students are introduced to movements inspired by many dance cultures ballet, modern dance, Capoeira, martial arts, yoga, contact improvisation and Hip Hop. They gain physical skills and techniques that represent a global cultural perspective.
