Contemporary dance is an expressive form of dance combing elements of lyrical, jazz and classical ballet. Classes teach students technique and choreography focusing on grounding, expression of emotion, individuality and freedom. Students learn how to communicate through movement.
Contemporary Dance Lessons are offered by Dance2Music. Dance2Music Provides a range of different dance styles and classes.
Our contemporary classes are for the more serious advanced dancer from 7 years up. These classes work on both the traditional and commercial contemporary / lyrical styles giving our students the importance of technique and quality training needed for this style of dance.
The genre of Contemporary Dance is a blend of ballet and modern dance. It builds a strong centre and combines precision leg work with fluidity of the torso. Contemporary dance encourages self-expression, natural movement and personal interpretation.
