Course Details

Contemporary dance is a free-flowing style of dance that takes many forms. Explore the movement potential of your body with a warm up, stretches, technique exercises such as contraction and release, basic Ballet barre work, floor work and choreography. 

Sometimes slow and controlled, sometimes fast and furious, contemporary class will keep you guessing! Let out the tension of the week and enjoy what Contemporary dance brings.

Bare feet, socks or ballet shoes recommended.

  • From a young age dance has been a passion for Christina. Whilst working her way through Jazz, Tap and Classical Ballet examinations, she taught students of all ages at Desalyne School of Dance in Adelaide led by C.S.T.D State Organiser Des Wyatt. Developing her choreography and teaching the C.S.T.D Exam syllabus, she also traveled interstate to work with some of Australia’s most highly respected choreographers and examiners. In 1993 at age 16 Christina was accepted into the Centre for Performing Arts (now Adelaide Centre for the Arts) where she studied dance full time. Also studying Acting from 1997-2000 at SA Casting, she worked as a Movement teacher there for over 10 years. Since then she has continued to develop her skills as a professional dancer and teacher all over Adelaide. In 1996 Christina began her career as a professional freestyle dancer at nightclubs and music festivals. This eventually led her to Heaven nightclub (Now “HQ”) where she became Dance Coordinator. During her eight years at Heaven she was privileged to dance alongside some of the world’s best DJs and performers including DJs Darude, Roger Sanchez, Carl Cox, The Warp Bros, 4 Strings and Sasha and backup dancing for artists such as Delta Goodrem and Sophie Monk. Christina has produced hundreds of shows and performances throughout her 22 years as a professional Dancer and Choreographer.
