Lyrical and contemporary combine the many technical elements of classical ballet with the freedom, fluidity, expressiveness and airier aspects of jazz. These classes are expressive and dynamic, focused on conveying musicality and emotion through movement.
Contemporary & Lyrical Dance uses dance techniques and methods found in ballet, and modern dance and also draws from other philosophies of movement that are outside the realm of classical dance technique.
Get in tune with your body in our Contemporary class! Work your way through our warm- up and stretch and discover the fundamentals of contemporary such as contract and release, suspension and fall all while transitioning smoothly through the floor.
Designed by ex-Ballet dancers this style is still technical but with much more focus on rounded shapes, floorwork, grounded movements, and expressiveness. Unlike the “prettier” Ballet style, Contemporary Dance can be unexpected and unusual but is still powerful and captivating.
