Course Details

Are you getting interested in photography? Want to try out a professional camera? In Special Focus, learn the techniques and tell a story with your art.

We will focus on how to control light, the environment, and the mechanics of a camera in order to take the best pictures possible.  

You will use your photography to capture themes and narratives that you hold to be important, and we will collaborate to share perspectives and feedback.

With the Special Focus cohort, you will curate your work to showcase and to build your personal portfolio.


Free for teens currently in high school and at least 13 years old.

  • Marlon has been working with youth for almost 20 years and has focused his work on multimedia design and technology. He has helped develop award-winning multimedia youth programs around the world through the Intel Computer Clubhouse Network technology and media initiative. For the past 5 years he worked as the DIYDS national youth film festival director in Cambridge MA. Marlon has also worked on music videos, Indie films, documentaries and his photography has been published in books and magazines.
