Trans4m was developed as a CIC on the demise of a well known and reputable large social enterprise in the East Midlands in 2013. A group of former managers were dedicated to continue with the delivery of essential training and support services to vulnerable and socially disadvantaged young people.
So upon the closure of Stride they quickly secured premises (formerly Stride canteen, salon and brickwork buildings) and with the support of Connexions and other local agencies voluntarily continued to offer the services immediately so as to minimise disruption to the young people, therefore reducing the risk of the individual becoming disengaged and becoming NEET, (Not In Education, Employment and Training).
This business plan has been written to evidence and plan for the continuation of the training and services that are critical during times of a struggling economy for the people of Leicester.
This two day ‘hands on’ workshop will explore a variety of effective construction techniques. You will explore easily available tools, materials and processes accessible to beginners, artists and crafts people alike.
As well as designing and creating furniture for clients in Sheffield and across the region, Finbarr also teaches a three-day course guiding students through the process of making a hardwood table.
At this level, no prior knowledge or skills in furniture making is assumed. Students are taken from the basic understanding of tools and materials through to the making of a furniture project.
Level 1 introduces the learner to carpentry and joinery skills. It allows students to learn, develop and practise their practical ability and construction knowledge with a mixture of theory and practical sessions which develops the learner at their own pace.
This Course is a stand-alone qualification that will enhance your theoretical and practical skill for anyone that has completed Professional Development Award Level 6 and SVQ level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery.
