Chefs Sasha & Jen will help you build a solid foundation of knowledge while creating delectable baked goods. We will explore a Treasure trove of cookies that showcase butter in various ways.

You’ll learn how to choose the right ingredients and employ techniques that yield the pie and tart crusts of your baking dreams. We’ll teach you how to roll out your doughs with a minimum of fuss.

  • Jen Nurse is co-founder of The Civic Kitchen cooking school, where she enthusiastically fosters self-sufficiency and joy in the kitchen, and civil discourse and connection around the table. She was born a bookworm and baker and evolved into a lifelong avid home cook, eventually a pastry chef and bakery owner, and forevermore a teacher and evangelist for the life-changing power of education. Jen serves as co-chair for the Good Food Foundation’s Grains category and as a cookbook judge for the IACP. She lives in San Francisco with her husband Chris, 3 kiddos when they are home from school, and a fluffy cat called The Moomer (though that is not her real name).
