Dori Gladden is a fashion designer, entrepreneur, teacher, and mother, who has traveled the world designing for over 30 years. Originally from Los Angeles, Dori now calls the Bay Area home and has worn many hats in the fashion industry, from corporate environments to running her own label.
Dori has studied fashion design and pattern-making at FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) and ESMOD (Paris, France), laying the foundation for a successful career.
Her launch of "Camp Fashionista," a design school located in San Jose, CA, for both children and adults, allows her to share her passion and inspire the next generation of designers.
Lay the foundation for garment construction by mastering the essentials of sewing. Learn about different stitches, seam finishes, and fabric handling techniques that form the building blocks of successful apparel creation.
Get a general overview of sewing with hands-on demonstrations of the basic tools, techniques & patterns. The classes are geared to new sewing customers. Class size is small so you’ll be able to work closely with your instructor.
This class will go over the proper set up of the embroidery unit, as well as, needles, stabilizer and optional software. Proper hooping technique and embroidery considerations when using different thread are topics discussed.
Learn piece quilting to create blocks, working with batting and backing, appliqué & quilting techniques. start to finish quilt making, mitering corners, layering, quilting blanket.
We offer a wide range of classes for painted canvas and counted canvas. We welcome National Teachers and offer classes with our resident teachers, Nancy Yeldell and Charli Hendrickson.
