DurationStudents learn drawing techniques in many different mediums. These include but are not limited to pencil, charcoal, chalk and conte crayons on a variety of paper types. Many of the introductory lessons on composition, shading, perspective as well as project planning are taught in the medium of drawing.
Self portrait and still-life is also taught from direct observation at every level of experience to enhance the artistic understanding of the surrounding world. Copies of master artists and architectural drawings are also used to teach specific techniques.
Mastering basic drawing skills allows students to move on to different mediums as their project planning and finished pieces serve as great building blocks for advancing their creative ideas.
Artorium Inc. is a private family-run arts center in Chicago. It is open to everyone ages 5 and up , regardless of any previous art experience. The focus of Artorium is to help students develop their artistic and creative skills through hands on interactions with a multitude of art mediums.
