Artorium Inc. is a private family-run arts center in Chicago. It is open to everyone ages 5 and up , regardless of any previous art experience. The focus of Artorium is to help students develop their artistic and creative skills through hands on interactions with a multitude of art mediums.
Each student is approached with a personalized instruction plan that is customized towards their age, experience and the ability to handle tools and materials. Students are taught: painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, weaving, digital arts and crafts.
Beginners and more advanced students alike express their creativity through sculpture. Sculpture is taught in relief, additive and subtractive methods. Materials such as clay, plaster and concrete allow students to choose the proper medium for their desired work of art.
Students learn how to assemble and produce stunning visual projects, from basic abstract, to advanced multidimensional forms. The students adapt previously acquired skills, and try their talent in an exciting electronic medium of the three dimensions.
Students learn drawing techniques in many different mediums. These include but are not limited to pencil, charcoal, chalk and conte crayons on a variety of paper types.
Various crafts are used for younger students as well as for seasonal activities.Students use drawing, paintings and sculptural techniques on craft activities.
Here students showing full competence in computer application and understanding learn the skills of frame by frame animation. Students create tablet generated frame by frame images composed in Flash. The images are animated with sound and output to DVD and online.
