We teach our drum lessons on a real drum kit. Students learn how to play beats and rhythms to popular songs on a full drum set Our students learn how to play with other musicians and some even participate in our band classes.
This program is designed to be fun but challenging. Reading drum music is taught and proper technique is stressed. Once coordination of the limbs is achieved, each pupil learns to play along with his or her favourite songs. Technical exercises are developed to fine tune coordination and dynamics.
For those students that don't own a drum set, they can begin by ordering a snare drum pad so home practice is possible. These pads are inexpensive and are a good way to start learning about rhythm without purchasing a drum set. Most students will decide on purchasing a drum set a few months later, when they are sure that they enjoy playing.
