An effective coach or mentor is one who can manage a dynamic relationship with the principal goal of enhancing the capability of an emerging leader and giving them the best chance to meet or exceed their potential.

This course is designed to provide you with the building blocks to enable you in becoming the most effective coach and/or mentor that you can be. You will explore what it means to be a coach/mentor, reflect on why you want to be a coach/mentor and the qualities you bring.

• Coaching And Mentoring: Understand the differences between a coach and a mentor, and how that applies to your personal and organisational growth

• Connect Across Generations: Learn how to navigate generational differences for an effective coaching/mentoring relationship

• Motivate Others: Understand theories surrounding motivation and how to encourage your employees to perform well

How you will learn

Through understanding the core concepts of coaching and mentoring, you will be able to increase your own abilities and learn to better lead and inspire others.

This learning journey will be hosted on The AGSM Navigator, where you will participate in digital learning and self-reflection, constantly analysing and reflecting on your own abilities to identify strengths and key areas for improvement.

The differences between coaching and mentoring will be discussed, as well as specific frameworks to consider when working with and motivating individuals.
