We also concentrate on improving spelling, punctuation and grammar skills at GCSE level to maximise the gaining of marks awarded for SPAG (60 marks for two English Language papers).
For the comprehension questions we teach our students not only to identify the literary and persuasive devices used by writers, but to also produce analytical answers detailing the hoped-for effect on readers of the devices used - thereby maximising marks awarded for these questions.
