This course is designed for those interested in portable fire extinguisher maintenance. Student will learn the BC Fire Code requirements regarding inspection/ test/and recharge procedures.
After successfully completing the course, students can apply to ASTTBC (Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC) to receive certification. Certification requires 3 months documented experience.

This course will equip the participant with the tools necessary to teach the basic theory of fire extinguishers. Each participant will get hands-on practical experience with the four basic types of class B fires.
Training plays a pivotal role in the success of a team on the fire ground. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality courses that can make a difference.
Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to identify types of fire classes and extinguishers, describe safe operating practices and understand emergency procedures. No Expiry.
This course meets requirements of Standard 1031 of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Learners will develop the knowledge and skills to conduct thorough fire inspections and determine whether the risk of fire in buildings is minimized, or if, in the event of a fire
