To evaluate the applicant’s knowledge and performance. To determine if the applicant meets the criteria to be certified as a “Level One Firefighter” (in accordance with NFPA 1001 – 2019 edition)
To provide the emergency response personnel with a level of competence to recognize the presence of a hazardous material and what actions to take to protect lives as per NFPA 1072 Standard for Hazardous Materials
Determine the magnitude of the problem. . Plan a response within the capabilities of personnel and equipment.
To provide the candidate with training to enable him or her to recognize various hazards at motor vehicle accidents and to setup safe working areas on roads with traffic.
The program will verify proficiency in the knowledge and understanding of, as well as, the practical application to emergency vehicle driving as per NFPA 1002 Standard on Fire Apparatus Driver Operator Professional Qualifications.
