To be certified as a Fire Safety Inspector I by the Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training (BFST), an individual must successfully complete a minimum of 200 hours of basic certification training for Fire Safety Inspectors, or have received equivalent training in another state, and pass a state written examination.
