This intensive, full-day workshop will teach you how to bake your own stunning eclairs and French-style macarons at home - the darlings of the French pâtisserie world.
Anneka Manning, author, baking teacher and the founder of BakeClub, will take you through the foundations of both eclairs and macarons in this full-day workshop. The first part of this workshop will be dedicated to everything you need to know about creating all the elements for show-stopping eclairs – from perfect choux pastry and clever piping techniques to achieve well 'puffed' and evenly-shaped eclairs; to luscious fillings and stunning glazes and decorations. With these basics, you will be able to mix and match all the elements with different flavourings to customise your own eclair creations.
The second part of this workshop will have you immersed in the world of macarons. You will learn all the secrets you need to know to achieve a beautifully smooth surface, soft centre and crisp outer, to the perfect colour of your shell. We will also cover a range of heavenly fillings and buttercreams and decadent flavour combinations, again so you can create gorgeous customised macarons of your own.
During this hands-on class, you will work in small groups making this a great way to meet like-minded bakers or the perfect excuse to bring a friend!
