The Hazchem training material complies fully with the South African Qualifications Act as well as the TETA requirements.

Dantran offers trainers that are accredited as competent assessors and train according to National Unit Standards. This is complimented by their 30 years experience in the transportation of Dangerous Goods and thus comprehensive understanding of both the Hazchem Act of 1973 and the new Chapter VIII of the Act of 1996.

Candidates are required to study the work booklet prior to the training, thus familiarising themselves with the material and reducing the time for the active training of two days. The competency of the candidates is assessed by the trainers.

On completion of this training course, delegates will be in a position to apply for their professional driving permit that is in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act, as well as make a contribution to road safety in South Africa.

Each candidate will receive a Hazchem certificate acknowledging their competency in terms of regulation 280. The certificate is valid for one year from date of issue. Thereafter, delegates are required to be retrained.

The aim of the Hazchem legislation and of this training manual is to reduce the risks of transporting dangerous goods both in South Africa and in neighbouring states. It is the effort of companies like Dantran Training and Assessing Services that promote safety for the driver, other road users, the general public, and to safeguard the environment.
