Please note, while in the kitchen we are requiring kids to wear facemasks at this time and we are limiting classes to 12 kids per kitchen. You will have the option to dine in or have food to go, just let us know when you register. View our schedule below!?
UrbanCHEF was founded in 2005 when Chara Gafford sought a way to bring the hands-on cooking experience of traditional culinary school to the casual cooking classes she was teaching.
Our first location was in Houston's Third Ward, in the small building behind Chara's home. The classes held up to a dozen people in a kitchen designed with counter-space and stove access for everyone.
When she decided to expand they moved to the Greenway Plaza location in 2012. Two large kitchens accommodate a total of up to 48 with separate dining room and patio seating. Our off-site events bring the culinary competition to you for groups of up to 100 guests.
With a small but mighty team of formally trained chefs and culinary professionals we continue to be dedicated to providing 100% hands-on cooking classes for corporate groups, private parties, date nights, birthday parties and kid's classes.
Fun classes that teach basic recipes and cooking skills. We are currently offering a variety of classes including themes such as Disney and Polar Express.Â
Is your child beginning to show an interest in food and cooking?  Or do you have an older child who’s ready to explore or hone their skills in the kitchen?  Then now is the time to engage them with one of our cooking classes or summer camps.
Kiddie Cooks Class is offered by Walnut Hill College for all ages and skill levels. Throughout the camp week, beginning with the basics of kitchen safety, your camper will participate in hands-on culinary or pastry classes in the College’s kitchens
Kids Cooking Classes is offered by Events By Collette. Cook gourmet gluten free, dairy intolerant, and nightshade intolerant in the comfort of your own kitchen , classroom , or place of work. We bring the ingredients to make a fun, healthy snack or dessert at the party!
Our kid's classes start from ages 3-5 with Mommy/Daddy & Me to ages 5-7 learning important motor skills and expanding their palates with yummy treats.Â
