Fab Lab Coventry, falls under the programme of the ‘City University Initiative’ under the research centre “Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations”. The programme is focused on addressing the challenges faced in Coventry through its people and communities, aiming for the University to enhance local impact and help the transformation within the social and economic evolution of the city. We have two facilities located centrally in Coventry, offering training, resources and access to manufacturing equipment.
This is a one year course for learners who have successfully completed the Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery.
This course introduces you to the carpentry and joinery work environment within the construction industry. You will learn how to use hand tools as well as portable power tools as you master the art of creating woodworking joints, frames, doors and windows.
Dexterity is practiced using hand tools and small power tools, with a strong understanding of health and safety being built in to all learning.
This course is suitable if you have a keen interest in wood occupations and would like to start your journey towards a career in site carpentry or architectural joinery.
We also offer bespoke furniture, woodworking and design courses for both groups and individuals. A bespoke course enables students to select their own content and duration.
