The course is structured to start with absolute beginner skills and each week we build on the skills of the previous week. In Term 2 we cover beginner skills with basic stitches and work into intermediate skills such as reading patterns. Advanced skills will be on offer in Term 3 based on student demand.
Class cost includes all materials for each session and easy to follow notes so you can continue to practice your new skills at home.
Our Adult crochet class is designed so you make samples in class with provided yarns and then you can apply these skills to a project of your choosing which you can bring to class for help and advice throughout the term. You will finish the program with a folder of samples, instructions and patterns to support you on your crochet journey.
Based in Abury, the studio provides an environment where you can feel at ease, inspired and able to learn from an experienced and very patient tutor. It is an escape from our busy lives and a place where you can grab a coffee and start creating.
The studio has two learning rooms; The Sewing Room and The Sun Room. It also has a lovely kitchen area where you can access bottomless cups of tea and coffee, snacks and of course some healthy food as well.
Cross stitch is a great first step into learning embroidery, as it involves only a couple of simple hand stitches and their variations. It can be used to decorate garments, linen, and to create pictures.
Learning to Crochet course is offered by Art Viva. Art Viva was born in 1995 by Jim and Louise looking for something different to do on their relocation back to Tasmania after living in Sydney for 20 years.
Patchwork course is offered by Southlands Fabric Sewing Centre. If you have never been in and viewed our store, you are really missing out. It’s like a wonderland of ideas and creativity waiting to inspire you.
