This course offers a general introduction to the language. On completion of the course, students will be able to communicate in Italian on a basic level. Ideal for travellers and all those wishing to gain a basic understanding of the Italian language.

 

Course Information

If you are ready to learn Italian you've just found the perfect place to start. Our enthusiastic teachers will introduce you to this beautiful language and get you speaking Italian phrases in no time! Our classes are engaging and fun, with a friendly atmosphere, designed to help you feel confident and learn quickly.

So if you don't know any Italian at all or if you know a few words or phrases and are keen to learn more, Italian Level 1 is the course for you. It will give you the confidence to communicate with anyone proficient in Italian on a basic skill level, starting with useful key phrases and vocabulary to get you speaking from the very first lesson.

We concentrate on practical basic conversation skills, which are very helpful for common travelling scenarios. Plus, you'll also get an introduction to grammar and Italian related cultural topics.

This course covers a wide range of subjects including greetings, basic conversational expressions, numbers, the time, ordering food and drinks, transport and accommodation, asking for directions, the body and clothing to name just a few.

You'll also be invited to attend events where you can meet native Italian speakers to further practise your new language skills and exchange cultural information. These events include cooking and dance classes, film festivals, art exhibitions, visits to restaurants and much more.

  • Marialucia was born in Pescara, Italy. She graduated in Languages and Civilizations of the East at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. She began teaching Italian to foreign university students in Rome. During this time, Marialucia also received the DITALS Certification for teaching Italian language to both, children and adults. Before moving to Australia, she taught Italian in Croatia and the Netherlands too. Marialucia passionately believes that language is the essence of culture and by learning foreign languages it’s possible to travel, enjoy and truly experience many of the fascinating aspects of other cultures. She is now very happy to share her language and her culture with her students at the MultiCultural Language Centre Perth. Her courses will give you a taste of Italy and will take you closer to that beautiful country without having to take a flight.
