Course Details

Jazz is a less structured form of dance many children and teenagers find Jazz enjoyable for fun and fitness. Jazz classes are offered to all ages. It helps students develop the posture and co-ordination for everyday life.

Jazz involves stretching and strengthening the body and then learning amalgamations, turns and jumps that will be put into a routine for them to perform. It is recommended that Jazz and Classical techniques be learnt together as they compliment each other.

Jazz is neither syllabus nor exam based.

  • Georgie has danced from a young age and always loved music & the arts industry. Growing up, she trained at Barbara Jayne Dance Centre in all dance styles and competed in various competitions and syllabus exams. She's been involved in multiple musicals over the years, both as a dancer and starring in leading character roles, whilst also performing in many local Adelaide gigs over the years such as the Fringe Festival, Adelaide Fashion Festival and the Civic Park Christmas Carols. Georgie now has assumed more of the mentorship & teaching stage of her career: she is an event co-ordinator by day, whilst also teaching at various Dance Centres in Adelaide, choreographing school musicals and directing large scale community events.
