Jazz Dance is a fast, energetic type of dance using a combination of lots of different dance moves. From isolation to contractions, big leaps and quick turns, it is dynamic and lyrical as seen in films, musicals and TV.
This class introduces the basics of Jazz and show how they vary and what types of music can be used. We tend to do routines in this class as opposed to syllabus steps.
We do two types of Jazz within our sessions- theatrical jazz is typical of what you see on the West End stage, whereas lyrical jazz is a more emotive style- typical of what you see on programmes such as 'The Next Step'.
