This is why a strong background in ballet is needed to excel in this style of dance. The music choice often determines the movement – students are given as much variety across all sub sections of the style.

The ATOD Jazz Moves classes will increase stamina with challenging cardio routines, develop strength and improve flexibility. You'll learn multiple turning variations, conquer energetic leaps and study fabulous dance routines.
Jazz is a style reminiscent of some of the world’s greatest choreographers. Jazz at Geelong Ballet Centre combines the old with the new and celebrates all that this versatile style can offer. Students learn a mixture of lyrical, modern and music theatre.
This class has a strong technique-based warm up and concentrates on the choreographic styles of Bob Fosse & other great choreographers of Broadway musicals such as Chicago, Chorus Line, West Side Story as well as modern musicals like Hair Spray.
