The school is proud to say that many of its past students have pursued a career in the world of dance. To name a few, are Natalie Weir – Expressions Director and choreographer, Kurt Phelan – professional dancer, choreographer and actor, Tim Coleman – Singapore Ballet; Emmanuel Reynaud - Footnote Dance Company; and many of our former students are now professional teachers and examiners of dance.
Jazz is constantly evolving and it reflects many techniques and styles. Students will learn the fundamentals and creativity of this popular dance style. Routines and classes are based around the latest music video hits.
Jazz is one of the most popular styles of dance and is one of the basic fundamentals of all dance style.
Our Jazz classes build students technique and teach a variety of performance style dances and high-energy routines.
Jazz requires a dancer to own their dancing with power, technique, confidence and style. Jazz incorporates strong performance aspects of dance.
Students are placed into a Theatrical class based on their age. All theatrical classes perform at the Southern Tasmanian Dancing Eisteddfod and our End of Year concert.
