Grade 3 American Jazz (is now full). suitable for students 10-13 years, and grade 4 for students who have already sat grade 3, aged 11 years and over.
All Jazz classes and competition Jazz privates are held on Saturdays (refer to schedule), lead by experienced Jazz dancer Lara Davidson.
Denise is considered to be one of New Zealand’s most respected and successful Tap Dancing choreographers, teachers, and adjudicators, having successfully run dance classes in Dunedin for 40 years to the highest level of national and international competition.
Denise trains over 50 dancers ‘one on one’ for competitions as well as classes in musical theatre and acting. In 2020 we introduced the NZAMD American Jazz programme and now offer the first four grades of Jazz, which will grow in due course. Our Jazz programme is headed by Lara Davidson.
The studio boasts a talented teaching staff of fully qualified teachers with extensive performance, musical theatre, singing, tap and ballet/jazz training, qualifications and experience.
The classes also encourage individual creativity with student choreography improvisation in the higher levels.
We are a dancing school based in Upper Hutt – offering lessons in tap, ballet & jazz.
These fun energetic Jazz classes are structured on a progressional basis that starts at age 5 years old and progresses through 14 levels to Advanced and Solo Seal
In these classes we introduce pupils to the fundamentals of jazz, control, strength, energy and flexibility.
Teaching children jazz through the Jazz Dance NZ syllabus. Prepares children for exams (optional). Develops posture, muscle tone, listening skills, rhythm and enjoyment of jazz dance.
