While all dance is physical, this form is particularly athletic and has unique choreography due to its use of acrobatics in a dance environment.
Acro dance will help strengthen muscles. It is great for increasing flexibility. Memorising intricate choreography and moves like cartwheels, chest stands, hand springs, and hand walking promotes co-ordination.
Apparatus such as mats and springboards are used for practice purposes. This genre enhances the other dance forms by increasing flexibility and strength.
Performers Theatre School was established in 2001.
Our studios are opposite the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool’s Hope Street.
Alongside the excellent standard of training in Dance, Drama and Singing, all of our students are nurtured and cared for, from the very shy to the very confident.

Children range from 2 and a half – 19 years and are taught in mixed classes and have the option to take exams (ISTD and LAMDA), compete in Festivals and perform in shows in our own Theatre as well as professional productions at the Liverpool Empire Theatre, Theatre Royal St Helens,
Acro helps improve flexibility, strength, balance and control. It also teaches tricks and skills that can included into other styles of dance.
Acro Dance classes are offered by Topaz Dancentre. Our expert teachers are fully qualified, DBS checked and understand that different people learn in different ways. Therefore all our teachers allow students to progress at their own speed.
Acro Dance Classes for ages 3 upwards offer a fun and friendly introduction to acrobatic dance. Acrobatic Arts is a foundational program for Acro Dance.
Senior Acro classes are offered by KS Dance Academy. We offer many wonderful experiences for our students including the opportunity to participate in exams, shows, galas and fairs, festivals and competitions.
Senior-acrobatic arts classes are offered by Dudman Academy of Performing Arts & Fitness All of our classes are held in our very own fully equipped dance studios, complete with a sprung floor, ballet barres, and mirrors.
