Contemporary dance is an expressive style that combines Ballet, Lyrical and Modern dance. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and body through fluid movements.


Ecco Theatre Arts offers classes and individual tuition to people of all ages and abilities.

We specialise in classes for children, young people and adults who wish to learn something new or build on their existing skill-set in singing, dance and drama.

 

 

Students can start with us as young as 2 years old. We have programmes suited to all ages and levels of ability.
Ecco work towards productions throughout the year. We train students to have the ability, knowledge and confidence to take exams through the I.D.T.A. examination body.
 
We have many different styles of dance that children and young people can study here at Ecco. They include Ballet, Commercial, Contemporary, Freestyle/Street, Pre-School Dance, Tap, Theatre Craft, Theatre Dance and Rock and Roll.
We also offer Performing Arts sessions which cover dance, drama, and singing. You can come to as many different classes as you like during the week.

  • Carly started dancing at the age of 4 and danced competitively with Ecco Theatre Arts in freestyle and rock n roll, reaching championship status. From 2004 she continued dancing into further education, beginning training in contemporary dance at college and university. Graduating from Chester university in 2009 with a BA HONS in Dance, Carly has performed with various dance companies throughout north Wales and Cheshire gaining experience on stage. In 2010 she also began her teaching career becoming a dance practitioner for North East Wales Dance working in schools and the community. Since moving back to Sheffield Carly has continued to build her dance career working in schools and the community across Sheffield and taking her passion for dance and fitness to develop her own dance fit classes. In 2011 she qualified with IDTA in freestyle and now teaches freestyle and contemporary at Ecco. Carly loves to perform, create and inspire.
