Through dance and body expression, the workshops bring an experience of well-being and personal development. Other creative tools like writing, drawing and music will be touched during the sessions!
This approach is based on dance therapy and some contemporary and traditional dances. Several themes linked to artistic, physical and social dimensions are discussed at each session.
They are aimed at all adults interested in exploring and improvising dance movements for the discovery of self and others.
The Maison pour la danse de Québec is a unifying place that is open to the world . Animated by collective energy and creative synergy , it vibrates to the rhythm of the passions that arise there.
Varied recreational classes, exhibitions, shows, film screenings, meetings with artists during outings to laboratories and residences, conferences open to all: discover and experience dance your way at the Maison pour la danse!
Classes will progress at a rate that allow you to grow in strength and refine your technique, with movement and combinations becoming more complex over the session.
Studio 53 classes offer a way to continue your training after graduation. Whether you are a recent graduate, or have a few more years of life experience, any former dancers are welcome, and encouraged to continue dancing through this program.
For students ages 11+ with previous ballet/contemporary experience
The beauty of ballet and the strength of jazz. This class develops control and balance through emotion and interpretation of music. It is story-telling through expression and dance.
Combines jazz technique with modern skills to create interpretive movement, expression and emotional quality, as seen on So You Think You Can Dance.
