Course Details

Upon successful completion of all course requirements, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and understand the relevant workplace health and safety legislation, standards and codes of practice.
  • Read and understand manufacturer's specifications.
  • Use the hierarchy of controls to identify potential hazards and implement control measures.
  • Communicate with other workers about the work requirements.
  • Calculate the weight of a load so the elevated work platform is not overloaded.
  • Carry out routine machine and operational checks, and identify, report and record faults.
  • Inspect the ground conditions for suitability and set up the elevated work platform.
  • Operate and control the elevated work platform using all functions.
  • Drive the elevated work platform to work location appropriately.
  • Respond appropriately to unsafe situations.
  • Shut down and store the elevated work platform.

A person performing this work is required to hold a High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) for Elevating Work Platform (WP) or be enrolled in the course through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and under the supervision of a HRWL holder.


Outcomes:

  • This course is national recognised (accredited).
  • Participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment upon successful completion of the unit of competency.
  • Successful participants will also receive an AS1 (Assessment Summary Form), which is required to apply for your High Risk Work Licence with Workplace Health and Safety. Applications for High Risk Work Licences must be made within 60 days of assessment.
