The purpose of the Practitioner qualification is to confirm that you have sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor the MoP guidance and to analyse portfolio data, documentation and roles in relation to a scenario situation.
About The Course
MoP helps organisations to answer a fundamental question:
‘are we sure this investment is right for us and how will it contribute to our strategic objectives?’ Investment is the key word because portfolio management is about investing in the right change initiatives and implementing them correctly.
MoP achieves this by ensuring that:
The programmes and projects undertaken are prioritised in terms of their contribution to the organisation’s strategic objectives and overall level of risk
Programmes and projects are managed consistently to ensure efficient and effective delivery
Benefits realisation is maximised to provide the greatest return (in terms of strategic contribution and efficiency savings) from the investment made
The purpose of the Practitioner qualification is to confirm that you have sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor the MoP guidance and to analyse portfolio data, documentation and roles in relation to a scenario situation.
A successful Practitioner candidate should, with suitable support, be able to advise on the implementation of appropriate practices and techniques, and apply the method to a live portfolio, but may not be sufficiently skilled to do this appropriately for all situations.
Their individual expertise, the complexity of the portfolio, and the support provided will also influence the impact the Practitioner can achieve.
