Students are prepared for examinations through the CDTA Modern Syllabus, and competition participation at the discretion of the teacher.
For over 65 years, Martin School of Dance & Baton Twirling has set a standard of instruction in dance and baton twirling in Regina. Classes are offered in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical/Contemporary, Hip Hop, Stretch, Musical Theatre, Acrobatics, and Baton. Students consistently earn high marks in competitions and examinations.
In addition, the studio is the home of training and rehearsing the prestigious twirling group, the Sundown Optimist Baton Group (SOBG).
Our Ballet program follows The Royal Academy of Dancing (R.A.D.) syllabus.The classes incorporate the traditional study of classical ballet with free movement and character dance.
Ballet classes is offered by ETUDES Dance Studio. Dancers will learn a ballet or a jazz dance. They will focus on ballet technique and fun jazz moves.
Once these levels are completed the dancer will move into classical ballet training. When studying the Cecchetti syllabus, a minimum of two ballet classes per week are recommended in order the dancer to become a candidate for exams
Ballet is the foundation of dance. Ballet develops excellent body placement and technique. Ballet is a prerequisite for all competitive students.Â
