Course Details

Students will explore levels, weight and suspension, fall and release energies through interpretive and technically challenging work. Individuality and expressiveness are strongly encouraged.

  • Haleigh-Rain Eady is a dance artist, educator and arts manager originally from Burlington, Ontario. She has a Postgraduate Certificate in Arts and Cultural Management at Humber College and is a graduate of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre’s International Scholarship Program in 2016. Haleigh has danced alongside companies like Martha Graham Dance Company and Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet as well as performing roles for a vast array of productions with artists such as Darrell Grand Moultrie, Sidra Bell, Roberto Campanella, David Wilson, Hanna Kiel, Malgorzata Nowacka and many others. She is an Alumni of George Brown College’s Dance Performance Studies Program, Quinte Ballet School of Canada, Etobicoke School for the Arts and Burlington Dance Company. Haleigh has also worked as an assistant program coordinator at The Ailey School in the Junior Division for the Performing Arts High School Program, assistant stage manager for The Graham Company in-studio performances, and a dance consultant and teacher for UGOT Active Kids. Haleigh has experience teaching classes in different styles from children to professional dance classes as well as choreographic workshops. Haleigh would like to continue to develop and support Dance and Arts Education Programs across Canada.

Dancers must have a strong background in technical dance such as ballet and jazz as contemporary borrows movements from these formal genres. Modern elements are added to contemporary choreography such as torso contractions, floor work, and improvisation.
