Our modern program utilizes a variety of movement techniques including, but not limited to; Limon Technique, Laban Movement Analysis, and Bartennieff Fundamentals. The movement principles that dancers will become aware of are: time, space, weight, and flow, and how those relate to all dance technique. Classes consist of floor work, centre work, travelling, improvisation, and composition.
Modern dance and ballet complement each other greatly, and will give dancers the edge they need to excel in dance in Canada.
Youth Ballet of Saskatchewan develops dancers holistically through programs and dance forms accessible to all, with professional instruction and the opportunities to perform at the professional level.
A highly technical form of dance, that helps define the foundational techniques used in many other dance genres. It teaches posture, grace and balance, which will aid the growth of dancers in all genres.
A class focused on technique at the barre, down the floor, and in the centre with a large emphasis on strengthening feet. Pre-Pointe dancers will be invited to purchase Pointe shoes and dance en pointe at the instructors discretion based on work ethic, attendance, and strength of the dancer.Â
This class will further develop skills and strengthen the necessary muscles and technique to pursue enrolling in future pointe classes.
We believe in educating our students on the importance of being a team and building confidence in themselves and in their teammates.
