The herb mugwort has been dried and used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years by burning it in Moxibustion therapy. Unlike Acupuncture and Reflexology that moves and shifts the individual’s energy for better flow, moxa is said to add in extra energy into their system.
Research has shown that this plant alone, when burned, has the power to emit infrared radiation. The infrared heat flows into your body through the skin producing a pleasant, warm, palpable influx of energy. Good for chronic pain, lack of energy (conditions like chronic fatigue), insomnia, chills, stomach aches and lower back pain benefit fertility and used to support turning a baby in the breech position.

History & Philosophy of the Complementary Therapy College in Bath
The Complementary Therapy College in Bath has expanded from the highly successful and well respected Bath Reflexology Centre, which was established in 1998 by Rosalind Oxenford.
Heidi Armstrong trained with Rosalind throughout the 1990’s and became a course tutor for the school. Rosalind retired in 2013 and encouraged Heidi and Sharon Lewis (another course tutor) to succeed her and expand the school further.
Sharon ran the Indian Head Massage Certificate Training until 2018 and Heidi now teaches all the courses.
The college originally offered entry level Practitioner Training, though in 2018 Heidi decided to take the college in a new direction. She wanted to focus on enhancing practitioners skill through continual professional development courses only. There are now 9 CPD courses to choose from to help you expand your skills.
Support and commitment
Heidi provides a high level of support and are committed to helping you reach your goals. The self-developmental aspect of our courses helps you transition into a confident and effective therapist.
Peer Support
Our students work closely together which creates great peer support and ensures an enjoyable, fun environment for learning.
A body massage is a treatment that uses physical contact to help relieve muscular tension and relax the body. This course provides the skills and qualification you need to successfully deliver a massage treatment.
In this course, you’ll learn how to effectively use Reflexology Wands to enhance your treatments. These tools can help you apply greater pressure and ease the strain on your hands, all while maintaining the core principles of reflexology.
The demand for lymphatic drainage massage has rapidly increased in the UK market in recent years.
During this course you will learn a range of massage techniques and how to use them to manipulate the muscles in the body to meet the needs of your client.
Although hand reflexology is included in the Bayly School Practitioner Course and on other courses, many practitioners use this very little and often lack confidence at giving treatment to hands. However, there are times when hand reflexology may be more appropriate than foot reflexology.
