Musical Theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, acting & dance. A strong performance on stage is a combination of technique & storytelling
Our musical theatre classes run in two terms, for 1.5 to 2 hours a week (depending on the age ranges of each class). There are also additional sessions scheduled throughout the year (on Saturdays or Sundays, TBC) to assist in bringing the performances together as required.
This class allows for students to become well rounded in their dance training by learning adjunct skills to improve their overall performance and style. Musical Theatre will focus on classical jazz technique, facial expression, and showmanship, with an introduction to voice coaching.
The story and emotional content of a musical – humor, pathos, love, anger – are communicated through the words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole.
Are performance-based offering an opportunity for students to experience musical theatre performance.
