Musical Theatre

Is your child destined for the stage? Whether they’re a budding Broadway star, love the limelight, or just need to build more confidence, our musical theatre classes for kids are a clear favourite at Dynamite Studios.

A fun fusion of acting, dancing and singing, students will learn the basics of this fun and lively discipline in an inclusive and supportive environment. Working on the elements of musical theatre by honing vocal technique, drama and dance skills, our kids musical theatre classes are the perfect add on to dance classes for those children who may be looking to build a career in musical theatre, or for those who simply wish to bring more drama into their dance.

As part of the curriculum, students also learn how to prepare for auditions.

What your child will learn:

The art of musical theatre is unique. The style of singing, dancing and acting that works for the stage is very different to that which is used in other dance or theatre disciplines.

In our kids musical theatre classes, students are guided through harmonising and pitch techniques to develop their specific musical theatre singing skills. The curriculum also explores what goes into developing a character for both chorus and lead roles while teaching the fundamentals of musical theatre choreography.

Classes are a fun mix of drama exercises, group vocal warm ups and creative explorations that help kids build confidence and communication skills.

How classes are run:

Our kids musical theatre classes are split by age-groups so that we can offer age-appropriate activities to help develop musical theatre skills. Our curriculum runs alongside the school term and goes for 10 weeks.

Classes are built around working towards an end of year performance where the kids get the opportunity to showcase what they’ve learned. Our instructors are caring, fun and engaging—our kids love them.
