Seemed everyone I hired fresh out of cosmetology school needed to be retrained. They lacked the professional skills needed to become income-producing career professionals. Many were talented artists but were never trained in the skill sets needed to meet the demands of a highly competitive industry.
My commitment is to offer training that will give students long rewarding careers. Feeling accomplished is not something that can be given but must be earned and my goal is to give every student the opportunity and education to know how that feels.
Our Mission
Pittsburgh Multicultural Cosmetology Academy is committed to a high standard in total curriculum and preparation for employment to all students.
The school will prepare students to sit for the Pennsylvania State Board Exam, receive state licensure, and find gainful employment as an entry level Cosmetologist, Natural Hair Braider, or Instructor and begin ona path to a successful future.
Our School
The Pittsburgh Multicultural Cosmetology Academy is a State Licensed Cosmetology School, founded in 2008. We are a Federally Accredited Institution.
We are located in beautiful downtown Pittsburgh. We offer 3 programs for state licensure: Cosmetology, Professional Instructor, and Natural Hair Braider. Class size is kept small so that instructors can give each student the attention they need to learn fundamentals of cosmetology.
Our school provides students with a thorough knowledge of all textures and wave patterns of hair, and how to properly care for any individuals hair from naturally straight to naturally kinky curly.
Upon graduating you will gain the practical skills to perform, haircutting, styling, coloring, braiding, weaving, esthetics & makeup, chemical texture services and much more on any client walking through your salon door.
Combined with classes on business management, professional image, communication, and career development, you will be prepared to begin one of the most exciting and rewarding careers.
The best part about studying with ISSN? We let you get real, hands-on experience! We have a spa, massage studio, nail salon, and beauty salon built in so you practice with real clients.
The student will learn to use manicuring implements, supplies and procedures in shaping and polishing the nails, the artful care of hands, proper arrangement and preparation of the manicure table, massage, plain and hot oil manicure and identifying and using various products.
At New England Hair Academy, you'll benefit from classes that include both theory and hands-on experience and be prepared with the knowledge and skills to start entry-level positions in salons and spas.
Our curriculum is built to provide students with the knowledge and skills to successfully pass the NIC State Board exams. Students will get to go beyond the textbook and onto the clinic floor to prepare them for the real-life experience.Â
All the theories include proper ways of cleaning implements and learning to be professional with each other. Students will learn from the nail theories, such as parts of the nail and detecting nail and skin disorders, fungus, and mold, along with the different shapes of nails.
