It provides progression from the Level 4 Construction Skills course and offers progression to further study in construction. Good attendance and achievement on this course will also enhance opportunities for enthusiastic people with an interest to progress to apprenticeships and careers within construction.

This regular class in spoon carving introduces you to the art of carving with an axe, a knife and a crook knife. By carving a spoon, you can focus on becoming familiar with the tools of the craft without the pressure of knowing what to carve.

You do not need any prior experience to come on this course. There is a progression from one joint to the next, and some basic skills are repeated in later joints. You do not have to attend every session, but it is recommended that you do in order to develop and build upon your skills.
