Adults are able to watch the last session of each course. The classes are based on themes. There is a group activity at the start. The children are then split into 3 groups to work on the apparatus. Then they have time to play. We finish with a song.
The West Country League is another product of Robin Leeworthy's insatiable brain. It was met with a luke warm response when she first suggested it but it filled a need we had in our gym. As the gap between National and Regional gymnastics widened it had left a group of gymnasts who needed something useful to do. Lots of invitationals began to spring up but they were all stand alone competition with little purpose. They all had different rules and it was difficult to get any progression in the girls' work
With these requirements in mind Robin spent a few sleepless nights sorting out the rules. They haven't changed much; just kept up with new codes. So in 2003 we held our first match with teams from Exeter GC, Easton GC, OLGA, Baskervilles GC, Clevedon GC, Littledown GC Swansea GC and Bristol SG
The advanced sessions that are held in school holidays vary from club to club, but we usually offer gymnastic or ninja sessions that have a theme and a focus i.e. floor and beam, tumbling, flips and tricks.
The format of our classes will be slightly different to keep in line with COVID-19 guidance given to us by the Government, World Health Organisation, Leeds City Council and British Gymnastics.
Gymnastics Workshops is offered by OverGravity Gymnastics. As a leading gymnastic club, we foster an environment where all – from novices to seasoned gymnasts and performers – find a platform to hone their skills.
Gymnastic classes are offered by The Dream Academy of Dancing. The aim of the school is to have fun, stay fit, make new friendships, build confidence and self-esteem, improve posture, co-ordination, creativity and musicality in a fun and friendly environment.
