Piano classes are offered by Whangarei Youth Music. Good communication and input from the student is important to an enjoyable experience.
When looking for a music teacher it is important to have a comfortable and friendly relationship. The teacher would be able to gauge the student's current level and teach at a pace and in a way that the student can follow. Good communication and input from the student is important to an enjoyable experience.
Whangarei Youth Music is a self funding, family orientated organisation created in 1980 to provide opportunities for the young people of Whangarei and surrounding areas to develop their musical skills and to experience the enjoyment of playing music together.
Our organisation is run by dedicated volunteers who manage and organise our groups to achieve excellence in public events and concerts. We invite you to participate in Whangarei Youth Music either as a volunteer or as a budding musician and see how you too can increase your love of music.
Our piano lessons are fun, inspiring and come with a free trial lesson. We use fun 'jam sheets' where the pupils learn to play by ear. This teaches them to improvise, jam with their friends or play in a band with other musicians.
Learning an instrument is the brains equivalent of a full body work out. The earlier you start the bigger the benefits. These include increased memory, problem solving and literacy.
If you’re looking to diversify your child’s education with music and enhance their wellbeing – the piano is a great place to start.
Learning anything musical is a great choice. Music often makes people happy, whether they're involved passively or actively. If you can learn to play, write, produce or record music, you're basically set (on a positive trajectory) for the rest of your life.
Simply Music is the largest playing-based music education institution in the world.
