Pointe students are required to attend a minimum of two ballet classes per week, in order to gain the necessary strength, alignment, technique and endurance for the demands of pointe work.
The Dance Academy is thrilled to be embarking on our thirteeth season of dance in St. John’s. The Dance Academy was established in 2009 with the vision of providing quality dance instruction where students can learn the art of dance while enhancing social skills and self esteem.
We strive to provide every child with movement experiences which are meaningful and enjoyable, while enhancing motor skill development, social skills and an overall focus on an active, healthy lifestyle.
Students will be introduced to the importance of correct posture, artistry and presentation of their work as they progress through the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance syllabus (ISTD). Students are placed in classes based on their age and level of experience.
Our Ballet classes are designed to teach students the traditional graceful movements of classical Ballet
Shelley Shearer School of Dance is proud to deliver the highest quality Ballet program to everyone. Every student’s year culminates in the annual performances in June at the Winnipeg Centennial Concert Hall where everyone becomes a star. We’ll see you on stage!
Students are taught to use proper posture and poise, and to present themselves in a graceful manner. Ballet dance requires students to channel their energy in a positive way, and is an excellent dance form for both male and female students alike.
Ballet classes are offered by Clark Dance Production. Our recreational programming classes are all taught by experienced, adult instructors with extensive training and education in the field of dance instruction! We take pride in providing quality dance classes for all levels!
