Pre-pointe and pointe classes are offered for those students who show a keen interest in continuing their ballet studies.
Pre-pointe and pointe classes are offered for those students who show a keen interest in continuing their ballet studies. Pointe students are required to attend a minimum of two ballet classes per week, in order to gain the necessary strength, alignment, technique and endurance for the demands of pointe work.
The Dance Academy is thrilled to be embarking on our thirteeth season of dance in St. John’s. The Dance Academy was established in 2009 with the vision of providing quality dance instruction where students can learn the art of dance while enhancing social skills and self esteem.
We strive to provide every child with movement experiences which are meaningful and enjoyable, while enhancing motor skill development, social skills and an overall focus on an active, healthy lifestyle.
The foundation of all dance technique begins with ballet. Learn to stand with confidence, move with precision and develop accurate posture and alignment gaining poise, grace, confidence and strength.Â
Ballet Course is Offered by Performance School of Music and Dance.
The development of basic to advanced technique as the foundation of all dance with emphasis on dramatic expression through barre exercise and stretches for flexibility, strength, control, balance, poise, and grace.
Ages 4 to 6 years. Children explore basic creative movement and basic ballet. Children are encouraged to expand their movement vocabulary through movement games, creative exploration of time, weight, and space.
Ballet provides a good, solid foundation for many of the other dance styles in the DAS Recreational program, and it’s Caelia’s personal favourite! We have four levels of recreational adult ballet: Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced.
