Since 1956, the Victoria Carter London Dance Centre continues to offer classes in Classical Ballet, the Vaganova Russian method, as well as Jazz, Tap, Modern, Contemporary Dance, Hip Hop, Endurance & Dance Gymnastics.
Dancers can develop lifetime friendships and gain confidence all the while learning the art of dance.
Classes range from 30 minutes to 75 minutes. Students should wear a bodysuit and tights. Ballet skirts and shorts will be permitted. Pointe shoes required.
Students will be introduced to the importance of correct posture, artistry and presentation of their work as they progress through the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance syllabus (ISTD). Students are placed in classes based on their age and level of experience.
For serious students working at a Grade 3/4 level. The class is an extension of the technical technique and is an introduction to Pointe technique. This class will start in soft slippers and Pointe shoes will be added at the teacher’s discretion.
There is a strong focus on proper technique, body alignment, terminology, and both traditional and current ballet techniques. Ballet is a beautiful and challenging form of dance that develops and enhances technique, poise, grace, and strength.
