Bring in an exposed roll of black and white film and we'll walk you through the process showing you step-by-step how to develop. Continue your journey in analog photography by following up with our B&W Darkroom Printing Workshop and make a print directly from your negatives.
Our Short Film Workshop is a hands-on class designed to introduce students to the art and craft of digital filmmaking. The workshop is an excellent exploration into the language of cinema and the tools of filmmaking, and can be taken either in-person or remotely.
In this class we will be working together to write, shoot, direct, edit and produce a short film. Members will work with staff to set up a production schedule, assign tasks, and find useful resources for their film.
Topics covered include tailoring pieces to specific columns, writing a perfect cover and pitch letter, contacting the right editors, and submitting the work, following up, and getting clips. Speakers include top Manhattan editors.
In this class we are going to explore the art and craft of directing. When we think of directors, we tend to imagine them on set deciding where the camera will go and guiding the actors, but a director’s creative work begins during the script phase and continues through final post-production.
