Group lessons are 1-hour. During the process the student will learn to groom and tack up their own horse.
The eventual goal is that the student will be able to arrive, check the board for which horse they will ride, go groom and tack up and arrive at their lesson ready to ride. It takes some time to get to this level and until they can groom and tack up unassisted, this will be part of the lessons.

VRA encourages private lessons a minimum of twice a week to ensure students develop confidence, strength and equestrian skills. As students progress they are moved into beginning group lessons at the determination of the instructor. Please contact us to schedule private lessons.Â

Ellenwood Equestrian Center offers English riding lessons year around to folks of all ages and abilities. Our emphasis is on dressage – we do not teach any jumping. New riders learn all the basics necessary to continue into the beautiful art of dressage, should they desire to get more serious.
For beginners or more seasoned riders, we offer top-quality horse riding training that focuses on fundamentals and horsemanship skills in a safe and individualized environment.
