As well as designing and creating furniture for clients in Sheffield and across the region, Finbarr also teaches a three-day course guiding students through the process of making a hardwood table.
This is an engaging and hands-on course for all abilities, and no previous experience is required. Some courses run over three consecutive days, some across two weekends, and attendees use a variety of tools and techniques to create a beautiful side table to take home.
As a qualified and experienced teacher, Finbarr shares the knowledge he has gained from 25 years of furniture-making to help each student achieve fantastic results.
You will use a combination of hand tools and machinery, and learn the best way to measure, mark and cut the joints for this piece of furniture. All materials and tools are provided, and each student will have bench space with a vice.
Working at your own pace, and with as little or as much help as you need, you will be guided through the woodworking process. By the end of the third day you will have transformed oak timber pieces into a beautifully sanded and finished oak side-table that you will treasure forever.
