At ConfiDance Studio, Tap classes are currently available to ages five through adult offered in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
Tap dancing has made a comeback! Originating in the United States during the 19th century, Tap has now become popular all around the world. The name comes from the tapping sound made when the small metal plates on the dancer’s shoes touch a hard floor. This lively rhythmic tapping makes the performer not just a dancer but also a percussive musician.
Tap is a fun and lively way to develop a sense of rhythm and coordination. It blends ballet, jazz, and musical theatre techniques and is also an excellent form of cardiovascular exercise. At ConfiDance Studio, Tap classes are currently available to ages five through adult offered in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
Dance is more than just offering a great dance program. It’s about inspiring the student and enhancing confidence. It’s about personal skills – dedication, perseverance, teamwork, and self-challenge, as much as it is about dance skills.
Our vision isn’t just focused on technique, it encompasses the whole person. Whether you’re an experienced dancer or you just want to have fun, ConfiDance is the place for you!
This class is a combination of Tap, Jazz and Ballet. Students will learn two routines. Â
Students learn traditional tap skills, including steps, combinations and rhythms, as well as the history and theory behind them. In more advanced classes a stomp and hip hop style of tap is explored.
Using the sounds of metal tap shoes dancers create a percussive rhythm with their feet.
Our students will learn traditional tap dances along with other classic steps. Tap develops rhythm with coordination and improvisational skills.
Once your dancer starts tapping, they won’t want to stop! This style of dances put the dancer in control of the rhythm and beat.Â
