Dimensions in Dance opened its doors to approximately 35 students in 1986. What started out as a small dream has grown into Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge’s leading dance school. Dimensions offers a variety of disciplines in dance including: Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Acro and Contemporary.
We offer dancing classes at both the recreational and competitive level. At Dimensions, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the Arts; therefore, we try to keep our classes and costumes as affordable as possible. We are one of the very few studios to offer a family rate for dance classes.
Tap classes is offered by Kickit Dance Studio. A combination of footwork and rhythm set to music or acapella
Broadway tap focuses more on the dance. It is widely performed as a part of musical theater. Rhythm tap focuses more on musicality, and practitioners consider themselves to be a part of the Jazz tradition
Composed of both Jazz and Tap disciplines, this class will provide students the required skills to develop a strong sense of style and rhythm, with emphasis on flexibility. No previous experience necessary.
Class consisting of complete tap instruction involving a warm-up, progressing stationary steps, and travelling steps across the room along with learning a routine for competition.
Ankle mobility, weight placement, and glute activation are key components. Tyneal approaches Tap from a fundamental movement approach with proper conditioning and biomechanical techniques, while weaving in the history and rhythm of the steps.
